Malf Cyborg: Module pickin.

Post by Yske » July 23rd, 2018, 10:15 pm

OH FUCK
You're a cyborg to a Malf AI. How did this happen? Who did this? Who cares?
The thing is, you need to kill people, And with a malf AI, nine times out of ten they're aiming for doomsday. This guide should help you choose your module and how to deal with crew.
So, the first things first. Ask your AI by communicating with him over Binary Radio.
What is this? How is this? It's a magic radio that only you and the AI (and traitors who buy items) can hear. It even works when tcomms is down!
You should get contact on the current situation, and what playstyle he was going for. Being sneaky or loud as possible are very important when it comes to borgs.
Once you get all that down, it's time to choose your module! They all have upsides and downsides, and they all depend on playstyle. I'll run over the pros and cons now.
Image
Standard
Standard is a very decent all round borg, and when hacked gets an esword which is EXCEPTIONALLY helpful to deal with annoying crewmates.
Ontop of that, They get metal rods and metal to build walls or navigate through space SPEEDILY, a welding tool to heal you when you get your ass kicked and a pickaxe for robustin! Overall, a very good borg to choose for stealth or loud but be warned, the lack of having any ranged equipment can really fuck you up if you don't get a vtec early.

Miner boi's
Miners have a huge arsenal of heavy damage close quarter weapons, and a welding tool to heal you when again, you get your ass kicked. This one is a poor choice for Malf, even though it has all those weapons the crew will be quick to question why you're not mining. They also get stun arms which are stunbatons that use your battery. They're a good choice if you need to defend the AI, but other then that I'd stay away from Miner bois.

Sexcurity
Image
HARMBATON
So Security are the malf AIs' bread and butter of doing shit. Hacked with a laser gun, a disabler and a stunbaton, they are the frontline troops for the AI. Going this when they find out is the best choice possible. You will chew ass and shit victory. Buuut, on the other hand, nobody goes Security as borg, so if you're trying to be sneaky you'll be blown to kingdom come before you can even ask for a battery upgrade.
Engineer
Image
Engineers for being malf are usually treated like medics for the rest of the borgs, and that's mostly what you'll be doing. Armed with a fuckton of engineering equipment, you can cause some damage to the DIRTY humans. Your items allow you to fuck with atmos with ease, and sabotage the SM to explode. If you do it right, the crew will trip balls and you and your buddies will be aokay. A good middleground for stealth and loud, and you even get that great stun arm. If you want to be a TOTAL (see also god amongst borgs) you can try and see how many people you can feed into the SM before someone notices.
EDIT: I forgot about the engineers most devistating item in his arsenal, the RCD. While it might not seem like a big thing, Non rogue engineers use it to build autism forts for the crew to stumble apon and then get lost in, and that's exactly what you can do to hide your glorious overlord. The more defenses, the better. Basically play Bloons tower defense and you'll be good at defending. A decent strat is to also connect the pipes in the incinerator to the minisat, as there is a pipe there that leads directly to the AI place. You and your AI buddies are immune to fire, and having that place go up in flames means only two hardsuits on the station could even get close to the minisat, or they'd have to wait for it to cool down. Either way, it'll waste their time and when you got that doomsday device up wasting time is the name of the game.
The funniest shit you can do is with a engineer borg. Go to cargo, get a Supermatter shard. Middle of hallway. Wrench it down. Endlessly *scream as you watch the crew be idiots and run into it and instantly turn to dust.
Medical
Image
Medical borgs are odd. You'd think with the saw and all that they'd be great for stealth or loud but to be fair, they suck at either. Nobody ever goes medical borg because it FUCKING sucks dude. At least, non rogue medicborgs. When hacked, you get Mute toxin, Chloral hydrate and acid that will instantly inject in people. Bit of mute toxin and a saw and you can easily kill half the crew without anyone being none the wiser. The issue is that EVERYBODY knows this, and the second you inject them- even if it's to help them they'll run around screaming and try to kill you. This module depends on how much the crew are paranoid, really.
Janitor
Image
Don't.

Seriously, Don't, theres no reason to. They have no good weapons, and the only thing they get hacked is space lube. While yeah, it's funny to put space lube at escape and watch the crew slip out at mach one, it really doesn't benefit the AI much. Don't bother with this.
SERVICE BORG
Image

You are the greytide of the station. This is the best borg for the jack of all trades thing, in my opinion. You get service stuff, glass, dropper, a shaker that can make alchol and a tray to pick stuff up, among others. Not much but the way you use them is important. You've got your standard-issue flash to blind people for a bit, the tray to steal things Pick up literally every soap on the station and drop them when the guy with the ion is chasing you and your glass, shaker and dropper. Fill those suckers with Neurotoxin and you've got an instant stun provided they don't have eye protection. You also get guitars for robustin' and playing banging tunes. While this is a difficult borg to play with, nobody expects the service borg, and they can stun and kick your ass in a matter of moments. Oh yeah, you get beer that instantly stuns when hacked but nobody drinks beer anyway so who cares
Peace Keeper
Image
Peace keeper borgs non hacked are fucking useless. TG tried to replace security borgs with these pieces of shit, and everyone knows how bad TG nerfs are. Likwise, Peacekeepers are shit. You've got the hypospray that does all the shit the medical borg does but who cares because you've not got a decent robust weapon.

Now what?
You've chosen your module, your first objective is to take the robotics console. Not the one in RD, the one in tech storage. Nobody checks it until it's too late anyway, and if you keep that thing around You will fucking explode and get the AI cucked. Then, depending if you're going loud, Smash the SHIT out of the robotics console in RD, space the Ion Rifle in Armory and start the killing or whatever the AI wants you to do.

If you're doing stealth, it's a good idea to leave that RD console safe because the second that breaks, they'll think you're rogue. If the AI has a robo factory, try to sneakily take soem people down. (Ask the AI to turn off Tcomms, and say something about an Ion storm fucking comms!) Then start dragging them to a robo factory. By the time the humans catch on, it'll usually be too late.
And yeah, Malf AI with a cyborg is really that easily. It's just either rushing in or trying to make the crew not find out until you've got an entire army of borgs behind you. It's also a good Idea to move the AI from his starting place, since once the crew find out they'll be after his ass. Vacant office, Xenobio, Viro, Perma, The supermatter and incinerator are all good places to stash the ai. (Not anymore oops)

P.S
PINGSKY
Pingsky is your bread and butter. Pingsky is your excalibur. Dragging him around, You can emag on the will and disable on the will. He can't get flashed, which means if anyone tries to flash your ass, just get pingsky on their ass and start beating them up. If they're stupid enough to stay around, Pingsky will get them or you will.
If another borg already knows the glorious power of Pingsky, Never fret! You can always get Prison Ofitser from the gulag on lavaland, and if worst comes to worst, Officer Beeposky will suffice.
P.PS
If someone buckles theirself to you, spin. It'll stun them. You can kick their ass, or be stylish and bring them to the robo factory before spinning so fast they fly into it before being able to scream for help.
P.PPS
tg icons for robots fucking suck can we get the old ones pls
P.PPPS
Also bring back the ooga emote what the fuck coderbus
That's the main shit about being a traitor borg. With this you'll probably go far. Probably. Until RD research the robotics console and blow you.

I've probably made a few mistakes here but fuck you i'm tired. Please point anything I missed out so I can add it

Pretty good guide. One thing I would say you understated though is the engi borg. Engi borgs also come along with an RCD which might not seem that important, but to an ai they want to be as protected as possible and the best way to do that is to build an autismo fort somewhere they wouldn’t expect. And the only borg that can build reinforced walls is the engi Borg
I am just a floating pair of Eagle's eyes that blink really fast to communicate

Don't standard borgs also get an esword when emagged? That's not bad at all, better than their pickaxe atleast

Welders do the same amount of damage and eswords are FUCKING LOUD. The only real thing the esword has for it is the fact it can gib but that means they get some health back so...
It's really up to how you play.

Sorry, that was my previous experience kicking in where eswords were basically reskinned infinite welders at one point. I did say in the thing they were good at dealing with bois quickly but if theres more then one you're gunna wish you had a stunarm and a welder or something like that. Standard isn't too good for kicking ass because if they have eye protection you're sorta fucked since how vulnerable the sword can make you with its OBNOXIOUSLY LOUD NOISES
